Peacefull diving in Swanage!!
It all started well Carol & I in the van, the one with the part sun roof. On arriving at the camp site. We left the tents there then went down & put the RIB into the water had a chat the bloke on the gate & was able to leave the RIB on there jetty. Well he didn't say that but that was where it spent the week end. While there Bill & Robin phoned couldn't find the camp site Robin dose that a lot. Back to the camp site and up went the tents. Then Carol started land grabbing my tent was bigger that hers. So after a few choice words she moved all of half a metre. Bill having donated the tent I was using didn't bother to put the instructions in so my tent ended up lop sided. You just can't get the DM's now days.
Bill & Robin arrived, Robin too lazy to bring a tent slept in the back of Bills Jeep. Bill with his tent that he throes down & it puts its self up [more on that later] Then down to Swanage for a beer & meal. We wanted an Indian & ended up in a Chinese? The two lads are called Robin & Peter or as thay got to be known as Wills & Harry [they have A levels] To cut a log story short we will go the Saturday.
Our aim was to dive on the Kyarra they moved it. Carol & I went down first the tide was running fast we got down to 15 metres when Carol was having trouble with her ears. We tried a few times with no luck on ascending & in the RIB Carol showed me her hood it had no holes in the top. So as she was breathing out the air was going into her hood & forcing air into her ears. Bill & Robin then kitted up when Bill asked me to taste his air this I did he had a bad fill from Rec & Tec We changed over kit & he dived with mine. By this time the currant was running fast and they went on more of a drift dive. Bringing Bill in we found he had got his SMB line snagged so we had to cut the line, he lost his reel but better that than fight the currant. But we kept the SMB.
Back at the pier we decided to gas off & do a dive under the pier. I took Wills & Harry on there first open water dive. I have never seen so many large fish & I mean large. All went well. Others did there dive all went well. We then gassed off again and then out to the Flor- de- lea. Again they had moved it. A good drift dive was had by All.
Wills & Harry did there second open water dive all went well. Then back to the Camp site. Carol & Robin then made there way back to Hemel & in there place The plague arrived in the shape of Matthew & James. We decided to go for a meal at the local pub, food not up to much but the entertainment was good. Were Carol had, her tent Matthew & James [now know as Thunderbolt & Lightening] put there tent up. I bet they don't in future.02 30hrs I think most of the camp site was woken up by them. By 04 30hrs. They were told to go to sleep by me.
Sunday morning Liz & Peter arrived Liz had not brought breakfast with her. Never trust a woman. I had a chat with Thunderbolt & Lightening they promised never to wake me up at that time in the morning again. In the RIB we made our way out to the other side of the bay Harry, Wills, Liz & Peter doing there third open water dive a good dive was had by all. We watched the Red Arrows do there display while sitting in the RIB on a hot summers day. Then back to Swanage to gas off and fill the bottles. Wills, Harry Liz & Peter did there forth open water dive all went well. Bills tent was taken down & a fight to the death with the help of Peter they manage to put it into the bag. It reminded me of watching one of those wild life programs were 10 men are putting a 10 metre Python into to a large sack only they had less trouble. Then with the RIB out of the water we headed for Hemel. Another exciting action packed weekend with HLSD.
